Application reduces vessel planning time by 1/10th

Solverminds Solutions has indigenously developed an application which reduces the vessel planning time by 1/10th. This automation plans and optimises the stowage for container vessels by using heuristics algorithms to generate an optimised stowage plan. It has been successfully tested for a 12,000 TEU vessel and hence proved its utility for planning larger vessels. A boon for vessel and terminal planners who till date carry out laborious manual planning, this application maximizes the lifting capacity of vessel using maximised efficient space utilisation within the limits of vessel constraints.

This path breaking application named Vessel Auto Plan (VAP) is set to revolutionize the way container vessel planning is done. One of its kinds in the world, it has been implemented in Emirates Shipping Lines, Hong Kong, one of the big players in the Liner industry with container vessels operating all over the world. • Auto solve of optimum ballast distribution to achieve the departure drafts and strength results.
• Restow containers considered including preference to lesser ‘restow cost’ ports.
• Added feature for loading in 'User Defined Bay Allocation / Pattern'.
• Various reports can be generated including report showing any parameter violation while ‘auto planning’, stability/ strength reports etc.
• Crane Split: User defined, variable ‘Bay gap’ can be set for all future POD.

Depicts containers by color palette, in vessel bays by: POD, container weight range and specials (reefer high cubes, empty box, DG containers and many more options). All these options are user friendly and the planner can have a look at the container mix at a glance.
