Description:
SVM is looking for a motivated Business Development Associate to join our dynamic team in Atlanta, Georgia, and help drive growth by identifying new opportunities, building strong relationships, and supporting our mission in the healthcare and technology space.
Role and Responsibilities:
1. Learning & Support (Initial Phase)
• Shadow the VP of Business Development in client meetings, demos, and negotiations.
• Support the development of sales strategies, proposals, and outreach campaigns.
• Conduct market research to identify potential customers, competitors, and industry trends.
• Assist in managing the sales pipeline, tracking leads, and updating CRM systems.
• Work closely with marketing to align lead generation efforts with business goals.
2. Lead Generation & Outreach
• Identify and qualify new prospects in CROs, biotech, pharma, and academic research organizations.
• Build relationships with potential clients via email, LinkedIn, and conference networking.
• Support and attend industry conferences alongside the VP BD to expand the company’s reach.
3. Sales Execution & Account Management (Growth Phase)
• Take ownership of a specific geographical region and build a sales strategy.
• Conduct independent product demos, sales pitches, and client negotiations.
• Manage the full sales cycle, from initial contact to contract closure.
• Develop strong relationships with existing customers to drive renewals and upsells.
Skills and Requirements:
- 0–1 year of experience in sales, Business Development, or Account Management (Knowledge in Life Sciences or SaaS industries is a plus).
- Interest in clinical trials and emerging healthcare technologies.
- Strong communication, presentation, and networking skills.
- Highly self-motivated with a proactive, hunter-style approach to identifying and developing new business opportunities.
- Should have a strong willingness to learn and adapt in a dynamic business environment.
- Must be confident in engaging with people and demonstrate strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Willingness to travel as part of business development and client engagement activities is essential.
