Unavailability of sufficient containers to meet contractual obligation may also result in shipping lines loosing valuable customer.
Maintaining a fleet of readily available empty containers at demand locations at all time is important as any shortage will have to be covered by empty re-position or leasing boxes which are both costly.
Shipping lines need to manage few hundred thousands of containers located around the world some may be damaged and required urgent repairs. Traditionally this has been done through manual process of scanning the repair estimate and sending it to regional or head office for approval and this process may go through a few cycles before the job is authorized.
SVMCMR Container Maintenance and Repair is an asset management system with web interface that provide online access by all authorized vendors to input repair estimate with ability to upload photos giving line greater control over repair cost and tracking the status of every repair jobs. Streamline the approval and review process collaboratively to reduce waiting time and improve repair cycle time.
